The Lamb Kit is one I made up for the Australian Sheep and Wool Show 2026. This lamb accompanied me on the Spirit of Tasmania and across to Bendigo. He was my little mascot and such lovely company!

The Lamb is a pattern by Claire Garland, and is available for free here.

The head and body are knitted in one piece, with simple short rows for shaping. You then add the legs on afterwards.

WHAT'S IN THE KIT

This kit contains all yarn and embellishments needed to make the Lamb, except for the stuffing. (Tools, such as knitting needles, are also not included.)

All of the yarn needed to make up this little lamb is provided in the kit. And it's a very fun collection of yarn! There's alpaca bouclé, alpaca/cotton, merino, and the result is a very fun and fluffy kit. Some yarn is hand-dyed, and some is undyed.

This kit contains a pair of safety eyes.

It is best to hand wash gently in warm water, using a neutral non Eucalyptus wool wash. The merino has been treated so it can be cleaned in a washing machine. Put your item into a delicate wash bag, use the wool wash setting and a gentle wool detergent. Eucalyptus based wool wash has been known to strip colour, so over time, it may effect the colour of the yarn.

Dry in the shade and store your knitted/crochet item flat. If you wish to iron your item, have it on the medium setting.
