Service Description

I have put together three sessions of basic knitting knowlage to get you started on a good note.  We aim for knitting confidence! I am Sarah and I am the handdyer behind Bombed Yarns.  I am excited about the interest I have had from local peeps who want to learn to knit. I have put three sessions aside just for our Learn to Knit group.  Sunday 22nd and 29th of September and 6th October.  Sessions start at 10:00 and finish at 11:30. I am keeping our group to no more than four people so you feel well supported. The workshops include hand outs to remind you, when you are home, how to do what we learned.  You also receive some 8ply hand dyed yarn - there will be a range of clours so you can choose your favourite!  I will also supply (and you get to keep!) a fixed circular needle. Over the three sessions we will cover the basics and important things about knitting.  We will give ourselves lots of time to ensure you do not feel rushed.  We will cover how to knit and purl.  You will learn to cast on and cast off as well as learn about how to block your knitted item.  How to change yarns (eg one colour or end of yarn) plus how to increase and decrease a stitch.  All these skills will also teach you how to read a pattern.  All these skills over three sessions will give you good foundations to knit!  We will have mini homeworks to take away and reinforce what we have learned between each session. The workshops will be held in the Bombed Yarns Studio which is at 16 Smith Street, INSIDE the warehouse.  It is a cosy warm and welcoming studio full of colour and inspiration.   You just need to rock up on the first day ready to learn to knit!
